Job Overview: The Security Design Manager will lead the development and implementation of security systems and strategies within the organization. This role involves overseeing the design and specification of physical and electronic security measures to safeguard organizational assets, information, and people. The manager will collaborate with various external and internal companies / teams to ensure security systems are aligned with local legislation, client & project objectives and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Design & Architecture: Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust security frameworks for the client/project infrastructure, facilities, and digital assets. Ensure security designs meet regulatory compliance and best practices.
- Project Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of security design projects, from initial concept to deployment and evaluation. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, facilities, engineering, and other departments to integrate security measures into overall business operations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct security risk assessments and identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the company’s physical and digital assets.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all security design solutions comply with industry regulations, standards, and company policies (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO3001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors who supply security solutions and services.
- Incident Response Planning: Develop and maintain incident response strategies and procedures in collaboration with the security operations team.
- Training & Awareness: Provide guidance, training, and awareness programs to staff to promote a security-first culture within the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging security technologies and trends. Continuously assess and improve the organization’s security posture through proactive design adjustments and enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in physical security design, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of security systems, including access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and cybersecurity technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs).
- Project Management Skills: Proven experience managing complex security design projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and drive collaboration across multiple departments.
