Position Overview: The Cyber Security Director will oversee and manage the company’s cybersecurity strategy and operations, ensuring the protection of digital infrastructure and sensitive information across all platforms. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in IT security infrastructure, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), and cybersecurity for cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the organization’s cybersecurity strategy to protect against security breaches and cyber threats.
- Lead the cybersecurity team and collaborate with IT, risk management, and compliance teams to align security initiatives with business goals.
- Oversee the implementation of security policies, protocols, and controls to ensure all systems, networks, and data are safeguarded.
- Ensure the organization is prepared for and can effectively respond to cybersecurity incidents.
- Manage and monitor Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, ensuring continuous threat monitoring, analysis, and incident response.
- Spearhead the design and implementation of robust cybersecurity practices and policies in cloud environments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify areas of improvement in the security posture.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats and advise senior leadership on emerging risks and the necessary mitigation strategies.
- Work with external vendors and service providers to ensure compliance with industry standards, laws, and regulations.
- Champion cybersecurity awareness across the organization, providing training and resources to ensure all employees understand their roles in maintaining security.
What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate should have a deep technical background and a strategic mindset, combined with proven leadership experience in managing cybersecurity functions. To be considered for this role, the following qualifications are essential:
- IT Security Infrastructure: Proven experience in developing and managing secure IT infrastructures, including network security, endpoint protection, firewalls, VPNs, and data encryption.
- Managed Detection and Response (MDR): Expertise in MDR services, with a track record of successfully implementing and overseeing continuous threat monitoring, detection, and response strategies.
- Cyber Security for Cloud Environments: Strong hands-on experience in securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including identity and access management (IAM), cloud-native security tools, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Leadership: Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving large-scale security initiatives within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Risk Management & Incident Response: Demonstrated ability to assess security risks, develop mitigation plans, and lead response efforts during security incidents.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience are required out of which 4 years in a leading role within cyber security.
Additional Skills:
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
