As our Product Owner – Endpoint Security and Infrastructure Security, you are end-to-end responsible for the cyber protection of our assets. Your role will involve strategic planning, functional team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence and innovation. Some of your key topics will be to deliver and operate a cutting-edge security landscape that is ready to take on the evolving global threat landscape, while also being mindful of user experience.
You will be responsible for the multi-year product vision that protects all areas of the organisation. You will then incrementally turn this vision into reality by maintaining and prioritising a product backlog. With an interdisciplinary team of technical experts and customer representatives, you will ensure that new product releases deliver value on time, on cost, and on quality.
Your deep understanding of cyber security technology and the industry, as well as close relationships with key stakeholders will be key to ensure that the team’s effort stays aligned with the overall vision.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
●Set a clear product vision for endpoint security and communicate it to stakeholders and teams, ensuring alignment on security requirements. This includes how tools like antivirus, EDR, and encryption will protect devices and data from cyber threats.
●Devise and implement end-to-end strategies for the team’s output in endpoint and infrastructure security, encompassing the entire lifecycle from inception to production, to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and ensure seamless collaboration across the team..
●Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that digital security products align with team strategy and requirements.
●Apply market and industry expertise to transform user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for endpoint and infrastructure security solutions, actively managing a backlog that stays 3 to 4 sprints ahead to ensure a well-prepared and efficient workflow.
●Successfully deliver multiple concurrent projects and address backlog items related to endpoint and infrastructure security, taking full accountability for all elements of business change throughout the process.
●Lead and coordinate change activity, working with lead translators/program managers to maintain a strategic delivery roadmap.
●Manage projects of varying ‘scale’ as well as business area backlog items from idea through to delivery and closure, adopting proportionate governance and using the established change delivery framework.
●Maintain momentum and direction, delivering to the agreed scope, timeframe, and budget with resource planning and accurate estimation treated as fundamental principles.
●Practice progressive stakeholder management for endpoint and infrastructure security initiatives, building invested relationships and, where appropriate, employing an agreed engagement and communication plan
●Oversee and mitigate project risks, address issues, and manage dependencies, ensuring a well-controlled and smooth project execution.
●Plan and coordinate work with internal departments to ensure that endpoint and infrastructure security resource requirements are understood and the right resources are available when needed.
●Direct the activities of third-party providers (vendors, consultants etc.), facilitating delivery to time, quality, and budget.
●Report progress on endpoint and infrastructure security projects to senior business members through established monthly reporting or equivalent, ensuring clarity on the way forward.
●Lead release planning sessions for endpoint and infrastructure security projects with stakeholders and conduct weekly demos, fostering effective collaboration and ensuring stakeholders are well-informed and engaged.
●Integrate usability studies and research findings into product requirements, resulting in heightened user satisfaction and a customer-driven design approach.
●Successfully identify, build, and manage strategic partnerships across various teams, facilitating effective collaboration and managing dependencies with other team functions.
●Collaborate closely within the team to make sure that business value and user feedback are translated into new developments when necessary.
●Assume accountability for specific KPIs related to endpoint and infrastructure security products and communicate regular tracking updates to stakeholders.
AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING:
Key decisions having significant impact on the department are referred to the reporting manager for approval before implementation.
Job holder exercises financial authority as per the level established by the company board and stipulated in the authority matrix.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum Experience:
▪5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, specifically within endpoint and infrastructure security.
▪Demonstrated experience in managing security products from concept to delivery.
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
▪Excellent knowledge in Project Management techniques in an agile environment
▪Deep knowledge of endpoint and infrastructure security technologies (e.g., antivirus, EDR, firewalls).
▪Ability to define and manage the product vision, roadmap, and backlog focused on security solutions
▪Proficiency with security tools and technologies, and translating technical details into actionable product requirements
▪Skills in managing security projects, addressing risks, and ensuring successful and timely delivery.
▪Experience with Agile practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) for leading security-focused development teams.
▪Familiarity with security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
▪Strong skills in analyzing security data and making data-driven decisions.
▪Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
