Head of Technical – Cyber Security (MSP)
Location: Dubai Marina (Fully office-based)
Salary: 35,000 – 50,000 AED per month (depending on experience)
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Head of Technical – Cyber Security to lead the technical delivery function of a growing Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP). This role is responsible for overseeing cyber security engineering, managed security operations, and the delivery of cyber security solutions across a diverse client base.
You will lead a team of cyber security engineers responsible for security architecture, technology deployments, incident response support, and ongoing managed security services, ensuring the highest standards of technical delivery and client service.
This role combines technical leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on expertise, acting as the senior escalation point for complex security incidents and client implementations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the cyber security technical team, providing mentorship, technical direction, and performance oversight
- Build and develop the cyber security engineering capability as the organisation grows
- Identify training and certification pathways for the team to maintain technical excellence
Managed Security Services Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day cyber security support operations including ticket management, incident handling, and SLA adherence
- Act as the senior escalation point for security incidents, investigations, and critical client issues
- Ensure effective delivery of managed security services including monitoring, detection, and response
Security Engineering & Solution Deployment
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and integration of cyber security technologies across client environments
- Provide guidance on security architecture and best practice security controls
- Lead delivery of cyber security implementation projects aligned to client security roadmaps
Client Delivery & Advisory
- Work closely with clients to translate security requirements into technical solutions
- Support advisory-led engagements including security maturity assessments, risk remediation programmes, and compliance-driven implementations
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure security implementations align with international frameworks and regulatory standards including ISO 27001, NIST, and regional data protection regulations
- Support delivery of GRC, data privacy, and security maturity initiatives
Continuous Improvement
- Identify emerging cyber threats, technologies, and industry best practices
- Improve internal processes, tooling, documentation, and service delivery standards
Technical Scope
The role will oversee delivery across the following cyber security domains:
- Security architecture and solution design
- Deployment and management of security technologies (SIEM, EDR, IAM, vulnerability management)
- Incident response and security operations
- Security monitoring and managed detection and response services
- Security maturity and risk management programmes
- Compliance and regulatory-aligned security implementations
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in cyber security engineering, architecture, or security operations
- Proven experience leading cyber security teams within an MSP, MSSP, consultancy, or enterprise environment
- Strong experience delivering security technology deployments and cyber security transformation projects
- Experience overseeing security operations, incident response, and support functions
- Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on technically
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
Certifications (Desired)
Relevant industry certifications may include:
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
- CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
- CCSP – Certified Cloud Security Professional
Additional certifications in security technologies or cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, Microsoft Security, SIEM technologies) would be advantageous.
