The Assistant Manager – IT Infrastructure & Cloud is responsible for leading, managing, and operating the organization’s cloud and on‑premises IT infrastructure. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of global systems.
The position oversees cloud platforms, servers, storage, networking, identity services, and cybersecurity controls. The role works closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver reliable IT services, drive modernization initiatives, enforce governance, and support business growth through resilient and secure infrastructure.
Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor a team of system administrators, cloud engineers, vendors, and contractors.
- Manage day‑to‑day IT operations, task allocation, and performance reviews.
- Establish and implement IT infrastructure standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Act as deputy to the Head of IT in infrastructure‑related domains.
- Ensure infrastructure financial transparency by publishing consumption and cost allocation reports per Business Unit, aligned with enterprise service management KPIs.
Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture
- Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud and on‑prem infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Sangfor, VMware, Hyper‑V, virtualization, networking).
- Develop cloud adoption frameworks, cost optimization strategies, backup/DR plans, and identity/security architectures.
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives such as:
- IaaS/PaaS migrations
- Identity and access modernization (Azure AD / Entra ID)
- Automation through Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC)
Operations & Service Reliability
- Oversee global infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and incident response (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Zabbix).
- Ensure high availability and performance of servers, networks, storage, backups, and cloud workloads.
- Implement standardized patching, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation processes.
- Maintain asset lifecycle management including capacity planning and upgrades.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Enforce security policies across systems, networks, identity, and cloud workloads.
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO27001 - Contributor
- SOX Compliance - Contributor
- Local regulatory requirements – Contributor
- Act as escalation point for security incidents and participate in post‑incident reviews.
Vendor, License & Budget Management
- Manage cloud consumption budgets (Azure/AWS), enterprise licensing, support contracts, and renewal planning.
- Evaluate vendors and solutions, assist in negotiating contracts, and manage SLA performance.
- Support procurement of infrastructure hardware, SaaS, and cloud resources.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and DR documentation.
- Drive automation initiatives for efficiency (PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD).
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and technology innovation.
Certification :
- Microsoft Azure (AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑500)
- AWS (SysOps, Solutions Architect)
- VMware VCP or Hyper‑V experience
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- CCNA/CCNP (for hybrid network management)
Experience :
- Minimum 7–10 years IT infrastructure experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/lead role.
- Proven experience managing hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Experience leading infrastructure projects across multiple regions or business units.
