An ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Manager plans, directs, and coordinates an organization's IT infrastructure, telecommunications, and software systems. They are responsible for implementing technology strategies, ensuring data security/disaster recovery, managing IT staff, and overseeing budget and vendor relationships to ensure high-performance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develops and implements ICT strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversees servers, networks (LAN/WAN/VPN), databases, hardware, and software systems, ensuring high availability, security, and reliability.
- Team Leadership: Manages, mentors, and evaluates ICT staff, including scheduling work, training, and setting performance goals.
- Data Security & Compliance: Maintains data security, implements backup procedures, and ensures compliance with statutory standards (e.g., GDPR).
- Budgeting & Vendor Management: Manages ICT capital and revenue budgets, negotiates with vendors, and oversees service agreements.
- User Support & Troubleshooting: Provides high-level IT support, directs troubleshooting efforts, and manages helpdesk operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in IT management, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of network infrastructure, cloud environments (Azure/Office 365), and hardware/software.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, manage projects, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
