The key responsibilities
IAM solutions & technologies
- Work with Technical Operations and Corporate IT teams to determine requirements for IAM tooling & technologies e.g. SSO, MFA, privileged access management and password manager toolsets.
- Ensures the integration of IAM systems, solutions and processes with existing systems and workflows to support user productivity whilst maintaining security
- Leads the development & implementation of a role-based access control framework, working with both Technical and Operational teams to ensure that users have appropriate access based on their roles and responsibilities
- Ensure systems and applications are designed with least privilege access controls to minimize unnecessary or excessive access, reducing risk of access to sensitive information
User access provisioning & de-provisioning
- Works with Technical Operations and Corporate IT teams to streamline and automate the user provisioning, access requests and de-provisioning processes for all corporate and production systems.
- Ensure user accounts are managed appropriately, from onboarding of new joiners, internal movers and removing access from users as needed
Monitoring & Review of Access Controls
- Leads the access & governance review process with support from Technical Operations and Corporate IT.
- Ensure user access permissions remain appropriate, identifying any discrepancies and risk assessing any unauthorized access activity
- Determines user access logging requirements and ensures these are captured and investigated (as required) by the Security Operations team.
Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Supports the design and implementation of PAM solutions for securing access to sensitive system accounts and privileges
- Performs regular reviews of privileged access to sensitive systems, applications and data ensuring this level of access is strictly controlled.
Cross team collaboration
- Engages with business and technical teams to ensure IAM practices are integrated across all areas of the business
- Acts a key advisor on access management issues and risks, providing guidance on secure access design, best practices and compliance requirements
Continuous Improvement
- Works to continuously improve our IAM governance processes and controls, keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices
Role based access control and least privilege principles
Skills Required
- In depth knowledge of IAM frameworks, tools and best practices inc. user provisioning, role-based access, SSO, MFA and privileged access mgmt.
- Experience in establishing and enforcing access governance structures including policy definitions, auditing user access and ensuring access aligns with least privilege principles
- Understands security frameworks and standards applicable to access management
- Experienced with implementing IAM technologies and platforms such as Azure AD, MS AD or similar tools in addition to integrating IAM tools with existing systems and workflows.
- Experienced in conducting IAM audits, reviews and generating reports for internal stakeholders / external auditors, ensuring IAM controls are properly documented and evidenced.
- Stays updated on the latest IAM trends, tools and regulatory changes ensuring that we evolve with new security challenges and industry standards
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in identity and access management, IT security or administration ideally within a regulated industry
- Hands on experience of IAM solutions e.g. Microsoft AD, Azure AD and other related technologies (e.g. SSO, MFA, PAM)
- Experience in implementing role based access controls, least privilege policies and privileged access management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or Cyber Security related field
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Identity & Access Manager (CIAM)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
- Certified in Risk & Information Systems and Control (CRISC)
- MS Certified Identity and Access Administrator
- MS Certified Azure Administrator Associate
