Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Security Specialist to implement and maintain comprehensive data security measures. The role is critical for protecting sensitive information, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and mitigating security risks across the organization. The Data Security Specialist will develop and enforce data security policies, manage data classification and protection tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to safeguard data assets. Ideal candidates will possess deep expertise in data security technologies, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Security Policies and Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain data security policies, procedures, and standards to align with business goals and regulatory requirements. Stay informed of the latest data security trends and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
- Data Inventory: Work closely with business units to identify and track sensitive data such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and confidential data. Maintain a comprehensive data inventory and collaborate with teams to manage data flows and protection measures.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Deploy and manage DLP solutions to prevent unauthorized data leakage or exfiltration. Configure DLP policies to monitor and control sensitive data movement across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments.
- Data Classification Solutions: Develop and enforce data classification policies to categorize data by sensitivity. Implement and manage data classification tools to ensure data is properly labeled and protected according to predefined criteria.
- Digital Rights Management (DRM): Implement and configure DRM solutions to safeguard digital assets from unauthorized access or use. Develop DRM policies to manage and control access to intellectual property and digital content.
- Incident Response and Management: Monitor for data security breaches and coordinate with cybersecurity teams to promptly investigate and resolve issues. Ensure secure disposal of data assets and oversee protective measures for data storage, classification, and disposal.

- Effective management of data classification tools (e.g., MS Purview)
- Implementation and monitoring of DLP solutions (e.g., MS Purview, Zscaler)
- Management of DRM tools and policies (e.g., SecLore)
- Efficient handling of data security incidents
Required Experience And Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data security management, particularly within medium to large organizations.
- Experience in multinational companies, preferably in the energy and utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations, including GDPR and other relevant compliance frameworks.
