Job Description: Cyber Security Consultant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and strengthening our clients' cybersecurity posture by identifying vulnerabilities, providing solutions, and implementing best practices for data protection and risk management. You will work closely with clients across various industries to safeguard their networks, systems, and information from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cybersecurity Assessments: Conduct detailed security assessments, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis, to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in client systems and networks.
- Security Strategy Development: Develop and implement tailored cybersecurity strategies and solutions based on client needs, industry regulations, and current best practices.
- Risk Management: Assist clients in identifying, evaluating, and managing cybersecurity risks, and work with them to create risk mitigation plans.
- Incident Response & Recovery: Support clients in responding to and recovering from cybersecurity incidents, including data breaches, ransomware attacks, and other security events. Help clients with forensic analysis, remediation, and business continuity planning.
- Security Awareness & Training: Provide cybersecurity training and awareness programs to client staff, helping them understand common threats and how to mitigate risks effectively.
- Compliance and Regulatory Guidance: Help clients achieve and maintain compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and others, ensuring that their security posture aligns with industry standards.
- Continuous Monitoring and Improvement: Offer continuous monitoring and support for ongoing security health checks, ensuring systems remain secure and up-to-date with emerging threats.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with internal teams, including IT and engineering, to align security strategies with the organization’s goals. Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical concepts and recommend appropriate security measures.
- Tool Implementation and Management: Implement, configure, and manage cybersecurity tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection) to optimize security measures for clients.
- Report Generation: Produce detailed reports on findings, recommended actions, and improvements to share with clients, along with clear, actionable guidance for cybersecurity improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master’s degree or certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) working as a Cybersecurity Consultant or in a similar role, with a deep understanding of IT security and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, etc.), threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
- Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, encryption technologies, secure networking, and other security tools and technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc., and the ability to guide clients through regulatory requirements.
- Experience with cloud security, incident response, and disaster recovery.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
