Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Consultant to join our team at Myne. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and privacy of our users' data. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic fintech environment, where your expertise will directly impact the safety and trust of our innovative financial platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Privacy & Cybersecurity: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data protection strategies to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, particularly DIFC and ADGM data protection laws.
- Information Security: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate data security risks, ensuring that our systems are safeguarded against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Consulting: Provide expert advice on data protection best practices and strategies to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Policy Development: Draft and refine data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Training & Awareness: Conduct training sessions to promote data protection awareness across the organization, ensuring all employees are informed about their responsibilities.
- Incident Management: Lead data breach investigations and response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of emerging data protection laws and regulations, ensuring Myne’s compliance and advising on necessary adjustments.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, strategies, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex security concepts in an accessible manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in data protection, cybersecurity, or information security, preferably within the financial industry.
- Prior experience working with DIFC, ADGM companies, or startups is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with DIFC & ADGM data protection laws.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPP, or equivalent in data protection or cybersecurity.
- Tech Experience: Experience working on startup and tech projects, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced in fast-paced, innovative environments.
