We are seeking a highly skilled Security Specialist with deep expertise in Microsoft Purview and the Microsoft 365 compliance ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data protection, governance, and compliance solutions across the organization. This role requires hands‑on technical capabilities, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory and security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Data Discovery, Classification & Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain Data Discovery and Classification solutions using Microsoft Purview.
- Configure and manage sensitivity labels, metadata tagging, and automatic classification policies to ensure consistent data governance.
- Ensure that data classification models align with industry compliance standards and organizational risk requirements.
Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Deploy, configure, and operationally manage DLP policies across Microsoft 365 workloads, including:
- Microsoft Teams
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive for Business
- Integrate Purview DLP with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB) to enhance data protection and monitor shadow IT risks.
- Continuously optimize DLP rules and alerting thresholds to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
Ensure all data protection, retention, and loss‑prevention controls adhere to major compliance frameworks such as:
Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, reporting, and detailed analysis of data protection measures.
Monitoring, Reporting & Insights
- Utilize Content Explorer and Activity Explorer in Microsoft Purview to enhance data visibility and identify emerging risks.
- Produce actionable insights and compliance metrics using Purview dashboards and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with security, governance, and compliance teams to refine policies and improve organizational data hygiene.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up‑to‑date with the latest Microsoft Purview enhancements, Microsoft 365 security best practices, and emerging data governance trends.
- Recommend improvements to existing data protection strategies, ensuring scalability and evolving compliance alignment.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience managing Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Compliance, and DLP technologies.
- Solid understanding of data governance, information protection, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience implementing sensitivity labels, auto‑classification, and DLP rules.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the ability to interpret complex data security signals.
