The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise server, endpoint, and modern workplace environments to ensure high availability, security, and performance. The role covers Windows Server and Active Directory administration, endpoint and device management using SCCM and Microsoft Intune, and the delivery of reliable backup and disaster recovery capabilities aligned with business continuity requirements.
The specialist supports security, compliance, and audit initiatives, works closely with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams, and leverages automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline operations, improve system reliability, and reduce manual effort. The role also provides Level 2/3 operational support and contributes to continuous improvement across the IT infrastructure landscape.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Server & Infrastructure Management
- Administer and support Windows Server infrastructure (physical and virtual) in an enterprise environment.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file servers, and core infrastructure services.
- Perform server installations, upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Ensure system availability, performance, and business continuity.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Manage enterprise backup infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions.
- Monitor backup jobs, perform regular restoration testing, and ensure data integrity.
- Maintain and test DR plans in line with business continuity and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to defined RPO and RTO objectives.
Patch Management – SCCM
- Plan and execute monthly patching cycles for servers and endpoints using Microsoft SCCM.
- Test and deploy security updates, feature updates, and hotfixes.
- Monitor compliance reports and remediate patching issues.
- Maintain SCCM infrastructure health and client compliance.
Endpoint & Device Management
- Manage enterprise endpoint environments (Windows desktops and laptops).
- Ensure device compliance with corporate IT and security policies.
- Support endpoint lifecycle management, including provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning.
Microsoft Intune & Modern Workplace
- Administer Microsoft Intune for device and application management (MDM/MAM).
- Create and manage device compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployments.
- Manage Windows Autopilot and modern device onboarding.
- Integrate Intune with Azure AD, Conditional Access, and security controls.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Implement IT security best practices aligned with ADHICS or similar regional frameworks.
- Support internal and external audits, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to enforce infrastructure and endpoint security controls.
AI & Automation
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Azure Automation) to streamline server provisioning, patching, health monitoring, and user lifecycle processes.
- Use AI-driven monitoring and analytics tools to proactively identify anomalies, predict system issues, and improve incident response times.
- Leverage Microsoft security and endpoint insights (Defender, Intune, Sentinel where applicable) to enhance system reliability and security posture.
- Automate routine operational tasks to reduce manual effort and improve SLA compliance.
- Continuously identify and implement AI and automation opportunities to optimize IT operations.
Operations & Support
- Provide Level 2/3 infrastructure support and participate in on-call or after-hours support as required.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed documentation, SOPs, and technical diagrams.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- Minimum Qualification: University Degree Or Equivalent Experience
- Minimum Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator in enterprise or large-scale environments.
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102, MD-102, MCSE/MCSA.
- Experience with VMware, Nutanix or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and AWS cloud services.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and core Microsoft infrastructure services.
- Proven experience managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Solid experience with SCCM for patching and endpoint management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management.
- Good understanding of Azure AD and Microsoft 365 services.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
