We are seeking a Head of Public Affairs for the META region, specializing in Government Relations. In this pivotal role, you will lead our efforts to engage with key stakeholders, including government officials, regulators, and industry partners, to shape and advocate for policies that align with Kaspersky's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop trusted relationships with key institutional stakeholders, regulators, think tanks, NGOs, public sector agencies, academia, and others in the META region; develop and implement a regional stakeholder outreach program that integrates Kaspersky's business, communications, and public policy strategies.
- Manage the local public affairs team and coordinate the agencies’ work in the region; build strong collaboration with business departments, communications, marketing, R&D, and other business-critical divisions at the regional level and at the company’s HQ.
- Represent the company at high-profile meetings with external stakeholders and public events; serve as the corporate spokesperson on policy issues.
- Monitor relevant policies across markets and deliver data-driven analytical reports and advice to internal stakeholders.
- Shape the company’s external narrative on legislative initiatives in areas such as cybersecurity, IoT, Industry 4.0, critical infrastructure protection, data protection, and AI regulation, including drafting official submissions and policy papers.
- Support the company’s involvement in forums and events, and foster relationships with public institutions, industry representatives, and partners to identify mutual interests and co-develop initiatives or solutions.
- Apply strategies to advance the company’s thought leadership goals.
- Advise the company on navigating regulations and global developments, managing trade-offs, and supporting decision-making processes.
- Facilitate participation in major cybersecurity awareness initiatives and public-private collaboration projects.
- Undertake any other duties and projects as reasonably assigned by the company.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a technology company, think tank, public affairs consultancy, or government sector.
- Degree in Law, International Relations, Information Technology, or Public Policy.
- Proven experience managing stakeholder engagement with regulators, think tanks, NGOs, academia, and public sector agencies.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating public policy initiatives, including drafting and distributing position papers, white papers, and policy documents.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, IoT security, and critical information infrastructure regulations in the META region.
- Knowledge of regional regulatory and legislative processes, including emerging policy trends affecting the technology and cybersecurity industries.
- Previous leadership or management experience, including supervising teams or coordinating external agencies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multi-functional responses.
- Ability to interact effectively across cultures and with stakeholders in different regions.
- Excellent persuasive writing skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
