Job description:
Job Purpose:
A Security Engineer is a professional who is responsible for keeping the digital security of their company or client's networks up-to-date. They help implement new protocols, operate a computer system that protects against cyber-attacks from outside sources, as well as maintain an IT infrastructure in order to provide maximum protection within an organization’s walls.
Key Accountabilities:
Network & Security
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Assist with infrastructure migration strategies, such as mass application transfers to the cloud.
- Collaboration Work closely with DevOps team members in both a strategic manner and in deployment.
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders to make sure the requirements are set first-hand before implementing a test drive.
Information Security
- Adherence to the information security policies/processes/program and for reporting any security breaches or incidents to the direct management.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Recommend improvements to departmental procedures, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility so that all activities meet DC’s standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering ‘international leading practices’, in order to increase operational effectiveness.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality services.
Reporting
- Ensure that all reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the Department’s requirements, policies and standards.
Others
- Other relevant tasks of the job purpose when, and if required .
Qualifications & Experience: Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
Minimum Experience and Skills
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in technology solutions and cloud/infrastructure technologies Extensive knowledge in automation process, CI/CD, networking, and cloud-based delivery models
- Knowledge in cloud security implementations. A solid understanding of Agile and DevOps project management.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure technologies.
- Exceptionally effective communication and cooperation skills.
