JOB CONTENT
As an IT specialist, you are responsible for maintaining the technological infrastructure of an organization. You must have a deep understanding of hardware and software systems and be able to diagnose and fix issues as they arise. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that systems are secure, and that data is protected from theft or loss.
Functional Responsibilities
- Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Assist in handling business-critical IT tasks and system improvements.
- Enable faster and smarter business processes and employee productivity.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert supporting Mac OS X, Windows, and widely used software and applications, such as Microsoft, Adobe, and Google Workspace.
- Install, configure, and support workstation software, hardware, printers, and phone.
- Troubleshooting and fixing issues with hardware and software systems
- Managing user accounts and access to systems
- Performing data backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Providing technical support to users and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Analyze staff needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost efficiency and accuracy
- Execute systems and network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration, and ensure components meet business needs and work together seamlessly.
- Implement applications and software upgrades and troubleshoot any performance issues.
- Conducting regular security audits and ensuring that systems are up-to-date with security patches.
- Train employees in using software and hardware, and provide technical support when needed
- Staying current with current industry trends, emerging technologies, and new tools
Education/ Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in IT.
- Deep knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
- Preferably with a Driving license but not a must
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge:
- Must possess a strong foundation in computer hardware and software systems.
- Must have a working knowledge of databases, network architecture, programming languages, and cybersecurity technologies.
- Must be adept at configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
- Effective communication is essential in communicating technical information in non-technical terms.
- Problem-solving abilities, leadership, and time management.
- Must be able to work collaboratively within teams and manage projects efficiently.
