The Information Technology Specialist will manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the organization's IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security. Key Responsibilities
- IT Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve system and application errors.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Network Administration
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Ensure network security through firewalls, VPNs, and access control measures.
- System Maintenance
- Perform regular system updates, backups, and maintenance.
- Ensure proper functionality of operating systems and enterprise applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access.
- IT Infrastructure Management
- Oversee IT assets and inventory, including hardware lifecycle management.
- Assist in the implementation of IT upgrades and new system rollouts.
- Support virtualization, cloud, and server environments.
- Cybersecurity
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect data and systems.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams and system configurations.
- Prepare reports on IT performance metrics and incidents.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a similar role.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and systems (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization tools (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with enterprise tools like Active Directory, Office 365, and ERP systems.
- Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
