Role Overview
The Access Management Specialist will oversee and improve the organization's access control processes, ensuring secure and compliant management of internal systems. This role involves granting, monitoring, and revoking access rights, conducting periodic reviews, and collaborating with IT and cybersecurity teams to align practices with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive access management process for all internal systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate and document access matrices, clearly defining roles and responsibilities related to access rights across the organization.
- Grant, modify, and revoke access rights for employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing of access requests.
- Conduct periodic reviews of access controls and privileges to ensure compliance with policies and mitigate the risk of unauthorized access.
- Collaborate closely with other IT departments, especially cybersecurity, to align access management practices with overall security strategies and initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on access provisioning, modifications, and revocations, providing insights for audits and compliance assessments.
- Respond promptly to access-related issues, working with IT support teams to resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay abreast of advancements in access management technologies and cybersecurity trends to continuously improve internal processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in access management, IT security, IT support, or a related role, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with IT systems and a deep understanding of access control principles.
- Proficiency in using Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence) for task and project management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to follow through on tasks until completion.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments to fulfill access management requests and objectives.
- Openness to learning and adapting to new technologies and processes related to IT access management.
