Cyber Security Specialist
This role is for a company dealing with shipping and logistics for the military. It is a new role and of course will be part of the IT team.
This role is based in Dubai and the salary is 16-20k per month depending on experience. The start date is March.
The Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s digital infrastructure, systems, and sensitive data against cyber threats. The primary focus is on identifying vulnerabilities, implementing protective measures, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Security Implementation: Develop and enforce measures to safeguard networks, systems, and data against cyber threats.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor systems for unusual activity or breaches using advanced tools and techniques.
- Incident Response: Handle security incidents efficiently, conduct thorough investigations, and implement preventive measures.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security events and resolutions.
- Training: Educate team members and stakeholders on best practices and emerging cyber threats.
Requirements and skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cyber security role.
- Certifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in security frameworks and architecture.
- Proficiency with security tools and monitoring systems.
- Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.
Soft Skills:
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of emerging technologies and cyber threats.
- Ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations.
