Responsibilities:
1. Network Security Architecture and Design
- Design , document , maintain and implement network / security solutions.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Perform regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans to maintain a secure network environment.
2. Project Management and Leadership
- Lead and manage network / security projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on time.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource requirements to align with business objectives.
3. Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Serve as a mentor and technical lead for network security engineers, providing guidance and support on technical issues and best practices.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate team performance to ensure project and individual objectives are met.
4. Strategic Communication and Stakeholder Alignment
- Act as a strategic link between senior management and the technical team, effectively translating complex security issues into actionable insights for executive decision-making.
- Communicate project status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with management to align network security initiatives with organizational objectives, supporting informed decision-making and resource allocation.
5. Incident Response and Threat Management
- Lead network incident response activities, collaborating with IT teams to contain, investigate, and remediate security incidents.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures, continuously improving them based on industry best practices and lessons learned.
- Proactively monitor network security alerts and potential threats, implementing mitigation measures as necessary.
6. Coordination with Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Work closely with the SOC team to ensure coordinated incident response efforts, enabling swift action and effective containment of security threats.
- Facilitate the sharing of threat intelligence, vulnerability findings, and incident reports to enhance situational awareness and improve defense strategies.
- Lead regular review sessions with the SOC team to assess security posture, review recent incidents, and implement improvements to detection and response capabilities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in network security engineering.
- PMP certification or equivalent experience in project management, with demonstrated skills in leading security projects.
- Deep knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of network and security infrastructure (firewalls , switches, load balancers, waf etc.)
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, CCIE , NSE8 etc.
- Experience with hybrid network environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of emerging tools, applications, and systems for attaining best-in-class network security posture across the enterprise.
- ITIL certification or knowledge of IT Service Management principles.
