POSITION PURPOSE:
Highly experienced professional well-versed in several Investment processes and functions, like Risk (Portfolio, Climate & Carbon Risk), Treasury, Front, Middle and Back office investment operations (including Accounting) across Private, Public and Alternative asset classes.
This role’s objective is to bridge the gap between the various units covering the investment lifecycle and the Technology function by advising them on how technology can enable them and by translating their growth strategies needs/requirements/strategies into Technology work packages. This role will include various degrees of project management, stakeholder management and Engagement with mid to senior business stakeholders across various units in the organization, understanding business processes, identify improvement opportunities through leveraging the IBOR/ABOR platform, advising on best practices in treasury, Risk and investment operations, and working with a diverse group within the IT organization (e.g. Data, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, etc.) to ensure the timely delivery of initiatives and projects. Being part of the IT Organization also means that this role will need to abide by the internal IT Governance structure and processes.
Role Description
- Play a role in the Implementation, system adoption and support of major Risk, Treasury & investment systems like Blackrock Aladdin, SimCorp, and StateStreet Charles River, Quantum and MSCI BarraOne.
- Engagement with mid to senior business stakeholders across various units in the organization, understanding business processes, identify improvement opportunities through leveraging the IBOR/ABOR platform
- Advise on best practices in treasury, Risk and investment operations
- Work with a diverse group within the IT organization (e.g. Data, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, etc.) to ensure the timely delivery of initiatives and projects in accordance with the IT Governance structure and processes
- Vendor relationship management and product management with setting and monitoring key KPIs
- Business process analysis/engineering and advisory capabilities in terms of industry best practices
- Deep Project management and conflict resolution skills working with demanding stakeholders. Defining and documenting requirements for implementation by vendors or internal development teams.
- Train on target technologies and learn product capabilities and be aware of new features and releases and understand how that will help business functions (if any)
- Project manage systems implementations and enhancements initiatives
- Contract management and breaking down complex contracts and understanding risks

- Team management and able to work in a team environment. Able to be a team player and a leader when required.
- Assist Technical Developers to perform technical changes in financial systems as per needed requirements.
- Design and recommend financial reports and dashboards. Able to understand the various need for analytics and how to extract meaningful analytics to business users of all levels (operations teams, leadership teams, etc.)
- Engage with the software development life Cycle (where applicable) with business members
QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT ROLES/EXPERIENCE
- Proficiency in end-to-end life cycle of products in public asset classes i.e. Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Commodities and Derivatives (Listed, Cleared & Bilateral OTC) and private asset classes i.e. private equity, private credit, hedge funds.
- A good understanding of IBOR/ ABOR capabilities, process controls, systems architecture, data flows and integrations to upstream/ downstream systems.
- Worked in an investment company before (asset management, asset owner, etc.)
- Ability to write effective use cases and user stories to describe business needs.
- Very comfortable in making PowerPoint slides and presenting in front of senior stakeholders
- Proven skills in managing business stakeholders and partner with them to proactively identify/prioritize business change demand.
- Experience in effectively liaising with vendors to implement the change initiatives in a timely manner.
- Understanding of SWIFT/ FIX messages in the end-to-end Treasury and Investment Management domain.
- Ability to create end to end test plans for investment management life cycle and executing them.
- Proficient in delivering initiatives using Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- A good understanding of what causes STP breaks in investment life cycle across asset classes and ability to proactively address the root causes.
- Troubleshooting skills to identify the root cause of business and technical problems and fix it.
- Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken)
- Excellent presentation and consultancy skills
- Knowledge and experience of implementing and configuring Corporate treasury and IBOR systems (Experience with Blackrock Aladdin and eFront is a must) and other financial systems
- Very strong cash and liquidity management knowledge
- Experience of defining accounting and posting rules for all Treasury products and instruments
- Experience in engaging with business for requirements definition and analysis, workshop facilitation and documentation
- Project Management Experience
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio skills
- Experience with designing Power BI reports and dashboards (or other reporting tools)
- Ability to communicate effectively with IT specialists (e.g. application support, network infrastructure team etc.)
- Software Development Life Cycle experience (SDLC, preferred)
- Treasury and investment Experience (15+ years preferred but can accept less depending on interview, minimum 10 years)
- Systems integrations experience (nice to have)
