We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vulnerability Assessment Specialist to join our Cybersecurity team. This role focuses exclusively on vulnerability assessment of IP addresses, machines, and all assets within scope. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough vulnerability assessments, managing related documentation, and ensuring the effective use of vulnerability assessment tools.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vulnerability Assessment:
o Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments on a variety of assets, including IP addresses, servers, workstations, network devices, and applications.
o Identify, evaluate, and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact.
o Utilize industry-standard vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies to perform regular scans and assessments.
2. Documentation:
o Create detailed and accurate reports of vulnerability assessment findings.
o Maintain up-to-date records of all assessments, including remediation efforts and status updates.
o Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for vulnerability assessment processes.
3. Tooling and Automation:
o Configure and manage vulnerability assessment tools to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
o Automate routine assessment tasks to enhance efficiency and consistency.
o Stay current with the latest vulnerability assessment tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
4. Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure all vulnerability assessments adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
o Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures related to vulnerability management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in vulnerability assessment, information security, or a related discipline.
· Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS, or similar.
· Strong understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.
· Experience with network security, system administration, and information security principles.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Skills and Competencies:
· In-depth knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies and tools.
· Ability to analyze and interpret vulnerability data and provide actionable recommendations.
· Strong technical writing skills for clear and concise documentation.
· Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
