BridgeWay is looking for a System Support Specialist to strengthen our IT department's capacity to address complex system-related challenges. This specialist will play a crucial role in assisting both our clientele and internal team members through technical support, system maintenance, and the improvement of our computing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the administration and operation of servers and related infrastructure
- Coordinate and implement software and hardware upgrades
- Troubleshooting and resolving LAN/WAN performance and connectivity issues with server infrastructure
- Network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems
- Participate in the network team that handles the day-to-day management of email/file / network security and end user cyber awareness training
- Monitor, manage, and maintain iSCSI storage infrastructure
- Monitor, manage and maintain Active Directory infrastructure to implement security as intended by the member organizations
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference
- Participate in our on-call rotation.
- Other duties as assigned
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource
- Oversee the installation of hardware and software at multiple locations
- Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members
The position of System Administrator requires excellent problem-solving skills, and knowledge of administering and maintaining all the relevant technologies.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years' experience working as a systems/network administrator, or in a relevant IT role.
- Proven experience with PowerShell scripting to automate routine tasks and deploy configurations.
- Proficient in managing Active Directory including knowledge about domain services, group policies, and user management.
- Hands-on experience in upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardware.
- In-depth understanding of Group Policy management and implementation for securing Windows environments and managing user settings.
- Familiarity with database management (DBM) solutions, preferably within the Veeam technology environment.
- Managing, updating, and ensuring the security of a virtual environment (VMWare, Hyper-V) with ISCSI Protocols.
- Implement Windows-based security measures, including but not limited to user/group permissions, file/folder permissions, group policies, and local security policies.
- Ensure the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure through proactive network management and maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests.
- Ability to identify, track, and complete tasks for multiple projects under prescribed timeframes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Expertise in Backup Solutions that consist of on-premise and cloud designs.
- Preference for candidates familiar with Veeam technology environment or similar backup solutions.
