Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Digital & Information Officer, the VP Data & AI leads the vision, strategy, and execution of Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence across our brands. This role blends technical leadership with strategic influence, driving innovation that enhances guest experiences, operational excellence & productivity, and personalized services. The primary responsibilities of the role are to create and maintain a comprehensive enterprise data platform, to enable Business Intelligence & Analytics across the organization and to drive AI adoption through developing AI tools and AI agents in close collaboration with business functions and resort operations. Strong communication skills, a cross-functional and collaborative working style, and a passion for elevating operational excellence and guest experiences through Data and AI are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute Kerzner’s Data & AI strategy aligned with business and guest-experience goals.
- Lead the architecture, development, and governance of Kerzner’s enterprise data platform
- Oversee federated data analytics and BI development functions across the organization and be the decision maker and guardian of our standardised data visualization and analytics tool
- Build and deploy AI tools and AI agents for internal productivity improvements and for customer-facing experiences and test them via POCs with respective teams/resorts
- Drive hands-on development in Python and guide best practices in coding, data engineering, and DevOps.
- Select Data and AI tools and partners in close collaboration with Procurement and Cybersecurity
- Partner with other Digital & IT functions, with Operations, Marketing, and Commercial to identify high-impact AI opportunities.
- Establish data governance standards across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and teach team members in data science, data engineering, and data analytics, Python and AI
- Communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Oversee vendor relationships, AI platforms, and emerging technology evaluations.
- Test new AI models and capabilities hands on and on an ongoing basis to understand the evolution of the technology
- Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity to ensure our data and applications can be securely accessed and our data is protected from theft, leakage and internal or external breaches
- Collaborate with HR to coordinate upskilling of our workforce in AI, Data analytics and BI
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or data related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data related fields
- Advanced Python programming and hands-on technical problem-solving.
- Strong foundation in data engineering, machine learning, and cloud data platforms.
- Proven ability to build AI prototypes, tools, and customer-facing solutions.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment.
- Deep understanding of data governance, privacy, compliance, and security best practices.
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable and secure data and AI solutions.
- Strategic thinker with a strong business and customer centric mindset.
- Ability to comprehend complex business problems and translate them into requirements and potential solutions
- Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams,
- Certifications in cloud platforms, AI/ML, or data engineering are an advantage.
