Responsibilities
The IT Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, network, and security systems. The IT Specialist works under the direction of the IT Director to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all IT systems, providing technical support to employees and contributing to the development and implementation of IT projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Administration
- Manage and maintain the company’s servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and performance tuning.
- Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to prevent issues.
- Ensure that all systems are properly documented and configured.
2. Data Backup and Recovery
- Develop and implement data backup and recovery plans to ensure the protection of critical data.
- Perform regular backups of servers, databases, and other key systems.
- Test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Respond to and resolve data recovery issues promptly.
3. IT Projects
- Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects, such as system upgrades and new technology deployments.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions.
- Manage project timelines and ensure that projects are completed on schedule.
- Provide technical expertise and support during project implementation.
4. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, processes, and configurations.
- Create and update user manuals, training materials, and other documentation as needed.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration.
- Proven track record of successfully managing IT infrastructure and providing technical support.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Strong knowledge of servers’ hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Advanced knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows-server, Red Hat Linux).
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle Database
- Experience with network administration
- Familiarity with data backup and recovery solutions.
