We are seeking a seasoned Network Security Specialist to secure modern hybrid network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a background in key technologies such as WAF, NAC, firewalls, load balancers and wireless security. You will also need to have deep knowledge of cloud network security and advanced scripting capabilities
Our client based in Dubai, is one of the largest semi-government organisations in the region. This position is a renewable contract role with an initial duration of 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security infrastructure including WAFs, NAC solutions, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Wireless Security.
- Lead deployment and operational management of AI-based security tools for threat detection and behavioral analysis.
- Engineer and enforce robust cloud network security across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Develop, test, and deploy automation scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
- Continuously monitor network security posture and proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate threats.
- Support security incident response efforts, ensuring rapid containment, investigation, and recovery.
- Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to embed security controls and standards in CI/CD and cloud-native environments.
- Perform regular audits, compliance checks, and contribute to governance documentation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, vulnerabilities, and trends in network and cloud security.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-grade WAFs, NAC systems, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Wireless Security technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud-native security features (VPC, SGs, NACLs, cloud firewalls, cloud WAFs, VPNs, and service mesh security).
- Practical knowledge of AI/ML-driven security solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience integrating security in DevSecOps workflows using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and CIS benchmarks.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications are highly desirable (e.g., CCNP Security, PCNSE, AWS/Azure Security Specialty, GIAC, Fortinet NSE, CCSP).
- 5+ years of experience in network security engineering with prior exposure to automation and cloud environments.
