ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Generic missions
For any domain/product localized by Thales in the UAE, including electromechanical modules and sub-systems:
- To define and manage industrialization work packages for transfers of production and new products (writing, scheduling and management of activities, budget tracking, reporting and risks management)
- To contribute to the qualification and to the monitoring of the local supply chain (PVETs, S-Production Readiness Reviews, acceptance of prototypes and serial products (S-First Articles Inspections)
- To guarantee the application of manufacturing and testing processes (procedures, integration and testing means, technical referential, ERP applicative configuration)
- To support the production teams to solve any issue linked to processes and tools, to manage the Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and to prepare the CCB meetings
- In close collaboration with the products assurance team, to lead and secure the execution of internal industrialization milestones, especially the Production Readiness Reviews and the First Articles Inspections
- To guarantee the manufacturability and the testability of the products
- To contribute to the modernization of the production lines by proposing, developing and qualifying new processes and tools (industry 4.0)
- To manage and guarantee the application of « Design to cost » on development phases
- To develop a strong collaboration with the BLs methods/industrialization team and to participate to meetings to guarantee the application of the up-to-date Reference Factories referential (methods/processes/tools)
- To be part of Thales group global industry community and to ensure the capitalization of the group best practices and return of experience to contribute to the industrial roadmap.
- To propose and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Specific missions:
At short term, the priority will be to support the deployment and the qualification of a local production capacity of defense for ground applications. During this phase:
- To lead the transfer of the legacy manufacturing and integration methods, processes and tools as per Thales Business Line referential
- To guarantee the full compliance with the products definition files.
- Under the authority of the BL, to contribute to the definition and deployment 4.0 industry initiatives to improve the competitiveness produced globally
- To work in close collaboration with IS/IT team to guarantee the alignment between the industrial initiatives and the company IS/IT architecture (ERP/PLM/MES).
- To contribute to the deployment and the configuration of this architecture
The position is based in Abu Dhabi with frequent business trips to France for training/coordination/reporting with the BLs.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in methods and industrialization.
- Demonstrated record of industrial processes and tools management
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Master/engineering degree in manufacturing and/or industrialization
- Experience in methods, industrialization and industrial processes (manufacturing and repairs)
- LEAN industrial management
- Work package management
- Industrial flux management methods
- ERP/PLM environments (user profile)
- Take care of your own safety and the safety of others as far as practicable.
- To be aware of, and play an active role in the achievement of Thales HSE policy & objectives.
- Comply with local HSE laws and legislation.
- To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and intended.
- Lead by example and actively encourage departments to look at ways to conserve water & energy, minimize the generation of waste, and encourage recycling.
