This position is responsible to oversee the development and management of IT infrastructure to support achieving company’s international strategic goals, ensuring operational efficiency, security, and scalability across all departments and international terminals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud services ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Lead the design, architecture and integration of IT systems across the international terminals ensuring scalable, secure and seamless operations.
- Manage cloud-based solutions that support the organization’s infrastructure needs, optimizing for performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and protocols to protect company’s data, ensuring compliance with international standards and mitigating potential cybersecurity threats.
- Provide high-level technical support and guidance to the IT team, international terminals, and other departments, resolving complex issues and ensuring smooth operation of all systems.
- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption to operations in the event of system failures or cyber incidents.
- Oversee the optimization of the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and efficient data flow.
- Build and maintain strong relationship with external IT vendors, participate in negotiating contracts, direct effective service delivery, and ensure that all third-party solutions meet the company's technical and operational standards.
- Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of corporate data, implementing best practices for data storage, backup, and recovery.
People Management Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor, whether directly or through interpersonal skills, the terminal IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
- Identify staffing needs within the IT department, either in corporate or at the terminals, participate in the recruitment process, and ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to meet organizational goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives for the team, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the IT team and with other departments, promoting knowledge sharing and teamwork to achieve common goals.
- Develop and implement training programs to keep the IT team updated on the latest technologies, tools, and best practices relevant to their roles.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that align with the business objectives of the International Business Office.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support both current operations and future growth initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and solutions that could enhance the company’s IT infrastructure and operations, driving innovation and competitive advantage.
- Communicate IT strategies, initiatives, and performance metrics to senior management and key stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in English language (written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic language is advantageous.
- Experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a Port, Maritime, or Logistics environment.
- Proven ability to lead the planning, development, and execution of IT infrastructure and systems strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with network architecture, cloud computing, data centers, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
- Strong background in overseeing complex IT projects, including system upgrades, migration, and integration, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs and technology solutions.
- Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring IT teams, fostering collaboration, and driving high performance.
