Overview
Core42 needs a proactive, highly analytical, and innovative professional for the role of Network Security Specialist, to safeguard the integrity and resilience of the organization’s network security infrastructure and its global customer base. You will ensure that our network security ecosystem is securely & effectively implemented and managed, protecting it from vulnerabilities, cyberattacks, data breaches, and unauthorized access.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Security Operations Centre, Information Security governance team, IT governance team, and business unit stakeholders on the design, deployment, and management of our core security infrastructure.
- Develop and execute delivery plans in collaboration with Cyber Security and Enterprise Architecture teams to implement cutting-edge security tools and capabilities.
- Collaborate with information security teams to understand and mitigate security and availability risks.
- Ensure the successful and timely deployment of security tools with minimal impact on business operations.
- Evaluate and integrate next-generation security solutions into the network, focusing on scalability and automation to meet organizational security demands.
- Administer and architect Zscaler solutions (including ZNTA, ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) to enhance secure internet access and zero-trust architecture.
- Configure, manage, and optimize Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), with a preference for F5 technology, ensuring robust application security.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, specifically Fortinet and Palo Alto, ensuring they are configured in line with network security best practices.
- Implement and manage Network Access Control (NAC) solutions to prevent unauthorized access and maintain the integrity of the network.
- Ensure the network infrastructure aligns with cybersecurity frameworks and addresses evolving threat landscapes at the network level.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Configure and maintain Azure networking components such as NSGs, ASGs, NVAs, VNET Peering, Azure Firewall, and Azure Gateways to secure the cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of security measures into network design and architecture.
- Drive continuous improvement of network security protocols and architecture, ensuring alignment with business growth and new technological advancements.
- Review HLD, LLD, run books, SOPs & handover checklists related to network and security deployments.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the security and network teams, fostering a culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks, ensuring adherence to industry regulations such as PCI DSS, GDPR, NESA, and SOC.
- Leverage security automation tooling and develop playbooks and workflows based on operational use cases.
- Collaborate with the threat intelligence team to integrate threat detection and response strategies into network operations.
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threat landscapes, and be the resident expert on emerging threats, risks, technical innovations, and security capabilities.
Qualifications
Skills and attributes for success
- Expertise in network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, particularly in Azure, including NSGs, ASGs, NVAs, VNET Peering, Azure Firewall, and other relevant Azure networking components.

To qualify, you must have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
- Security specialist certifications such as CISCO SCOR, Azure/AWS security specialist.
- 10 years of hands-on experience in Security Architecture, Security Operations, and security solutions implementation in a global company.
- Hands-on experience with Zscaler technologies, including ZNTA (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX), with a focus on architecture and administration.
- Strong expertise in Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), with a preference for F5 solutions, and a proven ability to deploy and manage them.
- In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies, specifically Fortinet and Palo Alto, with experience in configuring and troubleshooting network security policies.
- Familiarity with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, ensuring proper network segmentation and access control.
- A deep understanding of cybersecurity principles at the network level, with the ability to detect, prevent, and respond to security threats.
- Proficiency in security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Hands-on experience with Azure networking components such as NSGs, ASGs, NVAs, VNET Peering, Azure Firewall, and Azure Gateways.
- Proficiency in ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
- In-depth understanding of PCI DSS, NESA, SOC, and GDPR security guidelines.
Ideally, you’ll also need
- Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience with cloud security and securing cloud-based infrastructures.
- Proficiency in network protocols, security tools, and operating systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation.
- Familiarity with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.
