As a Manager IT Network & Telecom Infrastructure, you will d rive Enterprise Network practices in Emirates Group IT and its subsidiaries to deliver significant operational benefits to the business, c reate and maintain a solid technology foundation and services for all users to consume, be responsible for, but not limited to, building networks (local and global), data centre networks, WiFi, LAN, ISPs, Routing, Switching, SDWan service, public cloud provider networks and associated build, engineering, operations, maintenance, capacity management, modernization, and tech debt remediation and e nsure Network and Telecom connectivity and infrastructure are aligned with business needs, meet and exceed SLAs, and are delivered in a cost-effective, resilient, automated, fault-tolerant, and efficient manner.
In this role you will:
- Plan, develop and, manage roadmaps to implement strategies for designing and upgrading the Enterprise Datacenter, end-user network and, telephony infrastructure to meet current and future business requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to define network architecture, standards, and policies. Incorporate cutting-edge technologies safely and securely with zero downtime.
- Manage day-to-day network and Telecom operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Implement the best practices for network configuration, management, and security.
- Assess network capacity and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and plan for future growth. Implement solutions to improve network efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats. Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard sensitive information and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and other stakeholders to negotiate contracts, evaluate products, and ensure service delivery meets organizational requirements.
- Maintain a strategic and corporate perspective on the new platforms needed to offer advanced services to end users and enable improved time-to-market service delivery. Implement strategic programs aimed at eliminating technical debt and modernizing existing technology. Ensure alignment of emerging trends and technologies within the relevant area and consistently incorporate best practices into Emirates Group IT to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the definition of Emirates Group IT's objectives and priority domains by establishing action plans in the department, assessing IT infrastructure performance against EGIT's objectives, and managing the team’s performance and deliverables.
- Lead and mentor a team of global network and telecom engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the network team.
- Optimize operational costs and reduce per unit costs to sustain Emirates Group’s exponential growth without compromising on the quality of the services rendered by managing costs and budget. Ensure that the entire operation is maintained under the approved budget and that all services are constantly improved.
Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Information Technology or relevant
- Min 10+ years of proven hands-on experience in Enterprise Network and Telecom technologies, managing large teams of Network and Telecom Engineers globally.
- Knowledge and experience of working in Enterprise Data Centres is a must.
- Experience with network virtualization, SD-WAN, cloud networking, Zero trust, and emerging technologies.
- A solid understanding of networking and core protocols.
- Proficiency in networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, Security, firewalls, LAN, WAN, and wireless networking.
- Comprehensive understanding of Network Fundamentals: OSI & TCP/IP models, DNS, DHCP, TCP/UDP
- Good understanding of Public and Private Cloud, as well as technologies like SD-WAN, FWaaS, PaaS, WAF and SaaS, is preferred.
- Good understanding of VPN, IPSec, Firewalls, Radius Authentication, ISE Authentication
- Management experience with experience in leading a function at a senior level in IT, ideally within a customer services environment.
