Role Description
The IT Supervisor is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and databases as well as Information Security. The role ensures high availability, optimal performance, and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting business continuity and operational efficiency.
Systems Administration
- Configure, manage, monitor, and upgrade servers across multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Administer datacenter infrastructure including servers, storage, power, systems, and virtualization environments.
- Ensure 100% uptime of critical systems through proactive monitoring and optimization of CPU, memory, disk space, and response times.
- Troubleshoot issues related to web services, mail services, FTP/IIS servers, and application hosting environments.
- Perform regular system updates, log monitoring, patch management, and maintenance on all servers and endpoints.
- Coordinate with development teams for software release scheduling, deployment to production and DR environments.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
- Manage IT procurement and hardware maintenance contracts.
Network Administration
- Design, install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless networks, telephony systems, and Internet infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime and performance optimization.
- Administer and maintain firewall security policies in line with internal security procedures.
- Provide internal network analysis, troubleshooting, and serve as the primary liaison with network vendors.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, access guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Continuously enhance network infrastructure to support business growth and performance.
Database Management
- Oversee both production and non-production database environments.
- Implement backup, recovery, high-availability, and failover solutions.
- Monitor and optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
- Manage database patches, updates, migrations, and access security.
- Ensure database encryption and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Information Security
- Ensure continuous security patching across endpoints, networks, and datacenter components.
- Implement and maintain endpoint, network, and application security controls.
- Lead incident response activities and coordinate investigation of security breaches.
- Apply corrective actions based on findings from internal/external security audits.
- Maintain compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Information Security Manager on governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.
IT Governance & Compliance
- Align IT operations with organizational goals, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports for management reviews, IT audits, and information security assessments.
Oversee IT budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, network management, and information security.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, network infrastructure, hardware, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide junior IT staff when required.
