Group Data Protection & Information Security Manager
Dubai | Permanent | Senior Leadership Role
We’re supporting a large, multi-entity organisation in Dubai with the hire of a Data Protection & Information Security Manager to take ownership of enterprise-wide security and data protection governance.
This is a group-level, internal role (not client-facing), focused on strengthening information security, eliminating shadow IT, and enforcing consistent standards across multiple regions and business units.
The Role
You’ll act as the central authority for data protection and information security, working closely with executive stakeholders, audit, legal, and compliance teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and enforcing the organisation’s data classification framework (Public / Internal / Confidential / Restricted)
- Leading enterprise-wide DLP governance, closing gaps and preventing local deviations
- Defining and enforcing data residency, backup, and archival standards
- Driving security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with ISO 27001
- Overseeing core security controls including DLP, EDR, SIEM, MFA, PAM, LAPS, and identity security
- Leading and coordinating incident response, forensic investigations, and post-incident improvements
- Governing branch IT security operations and eliminating unmanaged systems and shadow IT
- Maintaining the security risk register and supporting audits, regulators, and customer assessments
- Delivering clear, executive-level reporting on security posture and risk
Background We’re Looking For
- 10+ years’ experience in Information Security / Data Protection
- Strong experience in regulated or enterprise environments (banking, government, airlines, large enterprises, etc.)
- Proven ownership of group-wide security governance rather than purely operational or MSSP-led roles
- Confident operating with executives, audit, and regulators
- Experience across multi-country / multi-entity organisations
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
Package
- Salary up to AED 40,000 per month + benefits
- Permanent role, Dubai-based
