A regulated financial services group expanding its global trading operations. The company is seeking an accomplished IT Manager to lead its technology strategy, infrastructure, and cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring secure, compliant, and high-performing trading environments.
About the Role
The Head of IT will be responsible for developing and executing the overall IT strategy in alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards. This role oversees all trading platforms, operational systems, and IT services to ensure seamless performance, reliability, and data integrity across the organization.
You will report to the COO and play a critical leadership role in driving digital transformation, automation, and innovation initiatives across the company.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with business growth and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with SCA and international technology standards applicable to financial services.
- Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Lead digital transformation, automation, and system modernization projects.
Trading Platforms & Core Systems
- Oversee administration and performance of trading platforms including:
- MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
- Centroid Bridge / Risk Management System
- CRM / Client Portal / IB Portal
- Payment gateways and KYC systems integration
- Ensure optimal trade execution, low-latency performance, and liquidity provider connectivity.
- Collaborate closely with Liquidity, Dealing, and Risk teams to maintain operational stability.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and maintain a robust cybersecurity framework including penetration testing, access control, and encryption standards.
- Manage secure data storage, backups, and disaster recovery systems.
- Ensure compliance with UAE PDPL and other applicable data privacy regulations.
- Prepare IT documentation for internal and external audits.
IT Operations & Support
- Oversee IT infrastructure including servers, networks, VOIP, and cloud systems.
- Ensure smooth IT operations and zero downtime across departments.
- Manage hardware and software procurement and lifecycle.
- Lead IT helpdesk performance and technical support functions.
Innovation & Project Management
- Drive the development of new technology tools, system integrations, and automation enhancements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI analytics and digital client services to enhance efficiency and client experience.
- Oversee cross-departmental technology initiatives from concept to delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP, Azure, or AWS are advantageous.
- 8–12 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership roles in FX brokerage or financial services.
- Hands-on expertise in MT5, bridge/liquidity systems, and trading infrastructure management.
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets, FX/CFD brokerage systems, and FIX API.
- Strong command of IT governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, vendor management, and crisis response capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
