To identify, assess, monitor, and report on risks that could affect the company's operations, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability. The Risk Officer plays a vital role in establishing the risk management framework and supporting a strong risk-aware culture during the company’s growth phase.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Risk Identification & Assessment
- Identify emerging operational, strategic, regulatory, and financial risks.
- Maintain a risk register and perform regular risk assessments across departments.
- Support the development of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
2. Policy Implementation & Control Monitoring
- Assist in drafting, implementing, and maintaining risk-related policies and procedures (e.g., enterprise risk management, operational risk, business continuity).
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and risk mitigation actions.
3. Risk Reporting
- Support regulatory reporting (e.g., Central Bank risk returns or inquiries).
4. Incident Management & Business Continuity
- Record and track risk events, near-misses, and incidents.
- Participate in the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
5. Collaboration & Advisory
- Coordinate with Compliance, Information Security, Product, and Operations teams to address risk-related issues.
- Support risk assessments of new products, vendors, or technologies.

Analytical & Risk Assessment Skills
- Explanation: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and assess potential risks that could impact operations or finances.
Knowledge of Operational and Financial Risks in Fintech/Digital Payments
- Explanation: Understanding the types of risks specific to financial technology and digital payment environments, including fraud, system failure, or compliance issues.
Basic Understanding of UAE Regulatory Environment
- Explanation: Familiarity with local laws and regulations, especially those issued by the Central Bank of the UAE that govern financial operations and compliance.
Strong Communication and Reporting Skills
- Explanation: Ability to clearly convey risk findings, write structured reports, and interact effectively with stakeholders across departments.
Detail-Oriented with a Proactive Mindset
Explanation: Precision in work with a forward-thinking approach to identify issues before they arise.Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000)

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in a risk, audit, or compliance role (preferably in financial services or fintech)
- Certification (or progress toward) in risk (e.g., CRMA, FRM, ISO 31000) is an advantage
