Position Overview:
The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. The role demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in cybersecurity leadership within government or critical infrastructure sectors, capable of aligning security initiatives with the entity’s mission and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive enterprise information security strategy aligned with the government entity’s goals and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead the design and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure.
- Oversee risk management processes, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of cybersecurity risks.
- Drive continuous improvement of the security posture through advanced threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and proactive incident response.
- Collaborate with internal departments, government regulators, and external partners to ensure compliance with national cybersecurity laws and international best practices.
- Lead and mentor the cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of security awareness and professional development.
- Manage cybersecurity budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments to optimize security effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for cybersecurity incidents, coordinating response and communication with stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience working within government or critical infrastructure sectors, understanding regulatory and compliance requirements specific to the UAE and the broader Middle East region.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and UAE’s National Cybersecurity Strategy.
- Strong expertise in risk management, incident response, threat intelligence, identity and access management, and security architecture.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
