Position Overview:
We are looking for a qualified, dynamic, and motivated individual to join our academic team as a Lecturer in Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction, contributing to curriculum development, conducting research, and mentoring students to prepare them for careers in cybersecurity and related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in cybersecurity, covering areas such as modern programming languages, network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cryptography, and information assurance.
- Design, update, and develop course materials, assignments, and assessments in line with academic and industry standards.
- Supervise student projects, theses, and internships.
- Conduct research and contribute to publications in recognized journals within the field of cybersecurity.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings and academic planning.
- Provide academic and career guidance to students.
- Engage in professional outreach and collaborate with industry partners.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in cybersecurity.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Minimum: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Computer Science with a specialization in cybersecurity.
- Preferred: Ph.D. in Cybersecurity or any above.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of teaching experience at the university level.
- Practical experience in the cybersecurity domain and/or relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and practices.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and support students from diverse backgrounds.
- A research-focused mindset with evidence of academic publications or ongoing scholarly work.
