Role Description
The Head of Information Technology will lead the technology function across the investment firm and its portfolio companies. This strategic leader will be responsible for setting the technology vision, ensuring robust IT governance, and delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions that support investment decision-making, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Head of IT will oversee all IT-related activities, including managing IT operations, developing IT strategies, and ensuring the stability and efficiency of IT infrastructure. This role involves aligning IT initiatives with business goals and leading digital transformation efforts to improve efficiency and innovation.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Abu Dhabi reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Role and Responsibilities
1. IT Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a robust IT strategy aligned with business goals and investment priorities.
- Support technology needs for new acquisitions and integrations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT department and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and digital transformation opportunities.
2. Investment & Business Application Oversight
Own the lifecycle management of platforms supporting front-, middle-, and back-office functions, such as:
- Deal pipeline and CRM systems (e.g., DealCloud, Salesforce)
- Portfolio monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., eFront, Black Mountain, Chronograph)
- Investor portals and secure data rooms
- Drive system integration projects to streamline workflows and enhance reporting.
3. Application Management & Support
- Manage core financial and investment platforms (e.g., portfolio management systems, ERP, CRM).
- Oversee the development and maintenance of internal applications and data analytics tools.
- Provide responsive, high-quality IT support to all business units.
4. Infrastructure & Operations
- Oversee the architecture, operations, maintenance, performance, and enhancement of all IT systems including CRM, portfolio management systems, deal workflow tools, networks, servers, applications, and databases.
- Manage network architecture, cloud strategy, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Ensure uptime, performance, and cost-effectiveness of the IT environment.
- Lead IT disaster recovery planning and execution.
5. Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Establish and enforce IT security protocols and policies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Proactively manage risk, data protection, and incident response processes.
6. Team & Vendor Management
- Build and lead a high-performing IT team, including infrastructure, security, and application specialists.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, MSPs, and technology partners.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, and contract negotiations.
7. Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Lead initiatives in digital transformation, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies.
- Champion IT-enabled business process improvement across the organization.
- Evaluate and implement new systems and platforms to enhance operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10–12+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior IT leadership role
- Strong expertise in Information Technology and Infrastructure management
- Proven experience in IT Management, including leading IT teams and managing IT operations
- Ability to develop and implement effective IT Strategies
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or similar are a plus
- Experience in investment or real estate industries is beneficial
