As we scale our platform globally, we are looking for a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and execution.
Job Summary:
The CTO at Livbnb will be responsible for overseeing the entire technology landscape of the company. This includes setting the tech vision, leading the development of our platform (web & mobile), building a world-class engineering team, ensuring data security, maintaining infrastructure, and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions to improve customer experience and support rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute Livbnb's overall technology strategy and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
- Lead architecture and development of scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems, APIs, web, and mobile applications.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering and product team.
- Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and other executives to shape the company’s vision and translate it into actionable technical plans.
- Drive innovation and adoption of emerging technologies including AI/ML for dynamic pricing, smart recommendations, fraud detection, etc.
- Oversee system performance, technical operations, uptime, and cybersecurity measures.
- Ensure robust data protection policies, GDPR compliance, and secure payment processing.
- Establish coding standards, testing procedures, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Work closely with product and UX teams to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Manage technical budgets, vendor relationships, and third-party service integrations.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar leadership role in a tech-driven company, ideally in the travel, marketplace, or e-commerce sectors.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software architecture, backend/frontend development, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Expertise in web and mobile application development (React, Flutter, Node.js, etc.).
- Familiarity with data analytics, machine learning, and recommendation engines.
- In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations and online payment systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience scaling a tech platform from MVP to millions of users.
- Prior work experience at or collaboration with companies similar to Airbnb, Booking.com, or Expedia.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
