One of Dubai’s leading five-star luxury hotels is seeking Information Technology Officer.
Job Summary:
The IT Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the hotel’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless technology operations that enhance guest experiences and internal workflows. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing networks, ensuring cybersecurity compliance, and supporting various hotel technology systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and guest entertainment services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Infrastructure & System Management:
- Maintain and support the hotel’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations.
- Ensure all systems (PMS, POS, VoIP, guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, etc.) are operational and properly maintained.
- Oversee the performance of cloud-based and on-premise applications.
- Ensure data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.
2. IT Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to hotel staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Respond to guest-related IT concerns, including Wi-Fi access, in-room entertainment, and business center support.
- Collaborate with external vendors for hardware/software upgrades and repairs.
3. Network & Cybersecurity:
- Monitor and maintain secure network access and firewall configurations.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
- Regularly update security patches, antivirus software, and system firmware.
4. Hotel Systems & Technology Integration:
- Assist in configuring and maintaining hotel-specific software, including PMS, POS, and booking systems.
- Support digital concierge, smart room automation, and mobile check-in/check-out systems.
- Work with the marketing team to manage digital signage, website, and social media integrations.
5. IT Administration & Compliance:
- Maintain IT inventory, including computers, printers, servers, and networking devices.
- Keep documentation of IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure compliance with local and international IT regulations relevant to the hospitality industry.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of IT experience in the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking, servers, and IT security principles.
- Experience with hotel management systems (Opera PMS, Micros POS, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide support outside of regular hours when needed.
