Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for helping design, implement, and optimize secure and scalable infrastructure solutions that align with organizational goals. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, enhances resilience against cybersecurity threats, and supports business continuity through robust architectural frameworks. By helping develop security and infrastructure blueprints, establishing governance, and driving innovation, this role plays an important part in safeguarding GPSSA’s digital assets and optimizing its technical environment.

Core Responsibilities
Architecture Development and Strategy
- Helps develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks focused on secure infrastructure and robust information security practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business needs.
- Assists in designing and implementing blueprints and roadmaps for secure infrastructure and information security architecture, ensuring integration with enterprise-wide frameworks.
- Identifies and integrates innovative infrastructure platforms and security solutions to enhance scalability, resilience, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Governance, Standards, and Compliance
- Enforces enterprise-wide policies, standards, and guidelines for information security and infrastructure management.
- Ensures compliance with relevant architecture standards and frameworks, supporting enterprise-wide governance processes.
Technology Optimization
- Assesses and optimizes the performance and security of infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with GPSSA’s enterprise architecture strategy.
- Conducts reviews of IT projects focused on infrastructure and information security, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending improvements to system design.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborates with internal teams, including digital strategy and IT development, to align security and infrastructure solutions with enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Engages with business units and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of secure and efficient infrastructure systems into organizational operations.
Strategic Initiatives and Innovation
- Contributes to enterprise-wide strategic planning by identifying gaps in infrastructure and security capabilities, developing actionable roadmaps.
- Evaluates emerging technologies to assess their potential impact on GPSSA’s infrastructure and security systems, providing recommendations to support organizational goals.
Self-Management Responsibilities
- Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the Line Manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year.
- Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the Line Manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.
- Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.
- Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 4+ experience in IT infrastructure and information security
