Role Description
This is a full-time on-site System Administrator role located in Dubai. The System Administrator will be responsible for system administration, troubleshooting, technical support, network administration, and information technology tasks on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Management:
Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN.
Implement and manage VLANs for network segmentation and security.
Perform Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting and optimization.
Configure and manage routers and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, RIP).
Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues.
Wi-Fi Management:
Design, implement, and manage wireless network infrastructure.
Conduct wireless site surveys and optimize Wi-Fi coverage and performance.
Configure and troubleshoot Wi-Fi access points and controllers.
Implement and manage Wi-Fi security protocols (e.g., WPA2/3, 802.1X).
Troubleshoot Wi-Fi-related issues.
Firewall Management:
Implement, configure, and manage firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
Develop and maintain firewall rules and policies.
Troubleshoot firewall-related issues and security incidents.
Perform regular firewall audits.
Server Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other server services.
Implement and manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Maintain and troubleshoot virtual machines.
Backup & Recovery:
Design and implement backup and recovery solutions.
Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures.
Ensure data integrity and availability.
Maintain backup documentation.
IP Telephony:
Design, implement, and maintain VoIP systems (e.g., Avaya, Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk).
Configure and troubleshoot VoIP phones, gateways, and other devices.
Manage VoIP call routing and quality of service (QoS).
Troubleshoot VoIP-related issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in network and system administration.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience with firewalls, routers, and switches from leading vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
